It's after we told you it's been awarded £25,000.
Alicia Kearns says she's especially pleased - saying she'd lobbied the Government to include circuses in the fund.
Pinder’s Circus is the UK’s oldest family-run circus, and a beloved Rutland institution.
Pinder’s has its roots back in 1784 and has been one of the UK’s famous circuses ever since.
They have entertained royalty at Balmoral and toured the UK – and indeed Europe.
Since the start of the pandemic, the Culture Recovery Fund has supported cultural institutions across Rutland and Melton, including Stamford Shakespeare Company, Nevill Holt Opera, Rocks on Rails, St Mary’s Church, Melton and many others.
Alicia Kearns, MP for Rutland and Melton said:
“Pinder’s is one of the UK’s best circuses – and it was my great joy to see one of their performances only a few weeks ago. It really is the circus, as you remember it.
“I’m particularly delighted that Pinder’s has received this funding since I lobbied the Government to include circuses in the Culture Recovery Fund.
“This funding has enabled institutions across Rutland and Melton to survive, and now they are able to thrive as the country has re-opened. And Pinder’s is at the forefront of putting a smile on our faces.”
