Hieronder een uitnodiging aan de leden van de ECA, andere circussen en direct betrokkenen
met circusdieren. De bedoeling is om van elkaar te leren hoe met politici om te gaan.

ECA Meeting in Paris

Animals in the Circus / Relation with Politicians

On Monday 7 December 2009, the European Circus Association (ECA) invites
its members, other circuses and animal trainers in France to its annual meeting in
Paris.

For the subject of “New legislations for Circus Animals in France” Mr. Gérard
Bassot from MEEDM – DEB/DGALN – Bureau Fauna et Flora Sauvages – , who
now is responsible for this subject, is invited.

Also, new ECA activities and initiatives for the well-being of animals in the circus
will be discussed. Among the topics is the additional training for animal attendants
and the use of the new ECA Animal Toolkit.
In a third round, Mrs. Brindusa Novac, director of Circ & Variete Clobus in
Bucharest, who also is a member of the Rumanian Parliament and its Cultural
Committee, will speak about the importance of good relations with politicians for
the circus business. Also Frank Keller, representing Circus Krone (Germany),
Alexander Ogurtsov from Circus Nikulin (Moscow, Russia) and Robert Ronday,
Circus Herman Renz (Netherlands) will talk about their experience.

The location is HorsLesMurs, 68 rue de la Folie Méricourt. The meeting starts
at 13.30h and will last until 17.00h.

The European Circus Association represents the European circuses towards
authorities and the general public. The ECA seeks to promote circus art and
culture and to protect this important part of our common cultural heritage. ECA
President Urs Pilz also serves as vice-president and artistic director of the
International Circus Festival in Monte-Carlo. Nearly all renowned European
circuses are members of the ECA.
