2012 Photography Contest
Everyone knows the sights and sounds and smells that mean “circus” … but can the essence of circus be captured in a single photograph?The Federation’s mission is “Preserving Circus Culture and Promoting the Art of Happiness.” What does the “Art of Happiness” mean to you?
The Federation welcomes amateur and professional photographers to explore the Art of Happiness and submit up to four photographs for the 2012 contest. The best photographs will be featured in a 2013 wall calendar (“Circus: The Art of Happiness”), which will be made available for purchase in the fall of 2012.
As in past years, winning photographs will be selected by an international jury of Circus historians. This year, all entries will be available for viewing online, and one photograph will be selected by PUBLIC VOTE. The overall winner will be selected personally by the Federation’s Honorary President, H.S.H. Princess Stephanie of Monaco.
The overall winner will receive:
- Two night bed and breakfast stay for two persons at the Riviera Marriott Hotel;
- Two tickets to the 37th Festival International du Cirque de Monte-Carlo Competition Shows A and B (17 and 18 January 2013); and
- A 500 Euro stipend for travel to Monaco presented at the Federation’s annual Welcome Reception on Thursday, 17 January 2013.
